**This post originally appeared on my personal Facebook page and I’m sharing them on the blog now to share our quarantine journey.**
It’s Monday, March 16, 2020.
Day 1 homeschooling and working from home/Day 3 of self-isolation and extreme social distancing: I always work from home, so at about 10:30 this morning I put my out-of-office message on saying: “I telecommute 100% of the time, but now I’m telecommuting with 100% of my kids at home. We’re flattening the curve and staying in. I may be slow to respond to email. Call me if you need me immediately; there may be screaming kids in the background.”

We didn’t do a lot of lessons, despite A LOT of talk about wanting to “do school.” Mo Willems’ Lunchtime Doodle was the best thing that could have happened today. Margaret and Niels did the doodle twice.

Henning went to work but came home early. He’s not going in tomorrow.
We are thankful we have this option.
I eventually got some work done.
The kids played well together and I only had to remind them that they can’t roughhouse too much because we can’t go to the hospital—not trying to give them nightmares, but seriously.

The kids took a bath! (Our kids hate baths…until they actually get in the bath…and then it’s splash-a-geddon and gleeful squealing.)
Stay safe. Flatten the curve. Virtual hugs only.
