About

That time we hiked into a national forest to cut down a Christmas Tree.

Who

Hiya! I’m Michelle Back, mother of two, wife to one. I’m an editor and writer by trade, and can’t resist a good DIY project or recipe. Making bread and painting walls are my happy places. I also love memes. One of my dearest friends and I can have an entire conversation through meme texts. I believe Black Lives Matter. Climate change is real. If you’re LGBTQIA+ and need a new family because yours doesn’t support you, I’m your family now.

What

Here you will find pretty pictures of DIY projects, fun recipes, and general tales of daily shenanigans. My kids, Margaret and Niels, are 8 and 5, respectively, and are masters of shenanigans.

When

Come for the daily round-ups, stay for the recipes and love letters to paint.

Where

We’re currently in the PNW, in Washington state, in the desert. Yep, Washington state is nearly two-thirds desert. It’s dry and windy here. I grew up on the East coast, about 45 minutes outside of DC. I miss trees.

Why

A lot goes on in my head. I need a place to put my ideas and have a place to overshare.

Welcome!!
